We have a provider number which you can pass on to your insurer if required.

How long will I have to wait for an appointment? If you are self-funding and are available we can usually see you the same day.

Body Movement Screen and Personalised programme "It's like an MOT for your body"
We can offer you a full movement screen that analyses the way you move highlighting areas where you will benefit most from specific conditioning.
If you have a recurrent / long term problem, why not consider a body screen
Body MOT
Includes a Sports Movement Assessment

Have you ever wondered why you are prone to the same injury when training, or you feel you can't run efficiently, or reach for that position to return a serve?

Although common in all levels of sport, these issues can be assessed, improved and in some cases resolved.
We can offer you a full movement screen that analyses the way you move, highlighting areas of weakness and restriction, formulating a programme for you to address.

Who is it for?
The assessment is suitable for anyone who trains and competes regularly and is addicted to sport at any level! You may want to iron out the following:
struggling with recurrent sports injuries
strength and flexibility issues that haven't improved in the gym
suffering with persistent work related aches & pains, headaches & tight muscles in your neck/shoulders
not performing as well in sport following a previous injury
use us to help you plan how to be "fit" for a new activity - if you're keen to prevent a potential problem whilst planning to do something special such as taking up a new sport, climb a mountain or going on an active holiday

What is involved in the MOT?
The session will cover the movement screen as well as giving you an exercise programme to take away with you. The entire MOT can either be carried out as a single appointment if you are willing to wait whilst we design your personalised program or you can return for the 30 minute follow up appointment the next day or week

If you would like a Body Movement Screen send an enquiry through our online contact form or give us a call on 0115 972 1319.

Common sports injuries
Common problems we can help with include
muscle/ligament and joint sprains and strains
bruising to soft tissue
over training
rehabilitation
muscle imbalances

Diagnostic Ultrasound scanning We also offer ultrasound scanning as a part of our patient diagnosis which can be used for a number of conditions including muscle tears, bleeding or fluid collections in muscles, bursae or joints and diagnosing tendon tears.
Diagnostic ultrasound scanning is used to supplement the physiotherapy assessment - we do not diagnose our patients on the basis of the ultrasound image alone.

Working with you We work with you, your GP and/or specialist to get the best possible results. If you've had surgery then we can help with your rehabilitation programme.

Sports Massage Sports Massage is suitable for anybody who enjoys a deep massage, not just for athletes.

Valued by both athletes and people who don't play sport but feel aches and pains due to work related activities such as sitting at a computer for many hours at a time.

There are many claims made about what massage actually does - the evidence is questionable, however many people are confident that it helps them feel better and ready to train / compete again or even manage their lifestyle.

So we're not going to make up any supersonic benefits or repeat dodgy claims - but encourage you to try it and make up your own mind. As we like to say - the evidence is often questionable, but the most important person is you;

"n=1" so why not give it a go?

Remedial Massage Soft Tissue techniques are incorporated such as Soft Tissue Release (STR) Neuromuscular Technique (NMT) and Muscle Energy Technique (MET). Remedial Massage can sometimes be uncomfortable, but is applied in a way that you will instinctively know is beneficial.
Even though sports massage and remedial massage are separate techniques they are commonly combined during a massage treatment for the desired outcome.

Acupuncture All Impact Physiotherapists who practice acupuncture are members of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) and adhere to strict guidelines for safe practice.

Acupuncture is an ancient healing technique which is now well proven and widely accepted.
Acupuncture can be used in the TCM (traditional chinese medicine) way, and is a simple and safe way to ease pain. Fine, single use, sterile needles are inserted into the skin at precise points depending on your specific problem.

This process stimulates your body's pain relieving hormones and eases your pain. Many patients find this relaxing which in turn helps your recovery.
A western way is to use needles to treat "trigger points" in conjunction with manual therapy techniques for treatment of your condition.
The signs and symptoms of your condition will be assessed to determine the best type of treatment.
Most people respond best to a course of treatment, but as with all our services you will be assessed individually to ensure the right approach for you.

Hand therapy A hand therapist is a registered physiotherapist who specialises in the rehabilitation of patients with conditions affecting the hands and upper limb.

Emma Bamford, our hand therapist, can help you return to a productive lifestyle following injury, disease or deformity affecting your hand.

Reflexology Reflexologists use hands-on techniques to release or stimulate specific points on your feet. These points have been found to relate to the organs and systems of the body.

Tenderness at these points can indicate when things are out of balance in that organ or system and in need of some attention. The reflexologist works on these points to help restore harmony and optimise function.

Craniosacral therapy Craniosacral therapy is a gentle hands-on method of evaluating and re-balancing the craniosacral system.

This system relates to the central nervous system, comprising the membranes of the brain and spinal cord, with their attachments to the bones of the skull and spine.

Chris Davenport is our craniosacral therapist, please speak to Chris if you would like to ask if this is suitable for you.

Ante and Post natal class Fit Back & Bumps is an exciting Educational Exercise Programme bringing new mums and mums-to-be together to share their pregnancy experience.

The classes are delivered by our Chartered Physiotherapists who will help remove the fear you might have about exercising during pregnancy and after you have had your baby.

Tai Chi class Our classes have been designed to be taught in a step-wise manner, breaking down the tai chi movements into smaller steps, whilst learning the sequence. You'll learn one or two new movements each week as we build the routine, practicing what we've learnt before.

Our tai chi for health courses run during term times and during the holidays. The duration of each course depends on the set program but typically run for 6 - 12 weeks. Places are limited to 5 per class for each program, with no previous tai chi experience required to join. The classes are taught by Chris. He is accredited to instruct the following tai chi for health institute programs.

Pilates class We offer Pilates classes and individual sessions. It is personal choice whether to join a matwork or studio class, both are run by Physios and have just six students to ensure you have an individualised workout. Feel free to drop by and take a look to help make your mind up.

All Instructors are experienced Physiotherapists who have trained in Pilates over a number of years. We offer 3 levels from beginners through to advanced throughout the week.

Yoga class Our small classes (maximum six students) ensures individual attention. At the start of the class you will be guided through a brief breathing/ relaxation practice to help settle the body and improve focus and concentration for the rest of the class.

Most of the class will then be performing Asanas or postures which will specifically work certain areas of the body, to either stretch or strengthen them. Each class ends with a period of time focusing on relaxing the body.

"Ironman Vichy, France August 2017"

"Sally, you provided some physio care to me a few months ago whilst I was in the middle of hard training for my first IronMan. I had a dodgy knee pain and after a few consultations you sent me away with some stretches and excercises to do.

Well, they worked.

On Sunday I got over that finish line in France and became an IronMan. I had (and still have) many aches and pains from it, but thankfully the knee is not one of them!

Many thanks for the help and advice.

All the best, Ash Hallam"
